Thornbury Picture House
DVD and Blu-ray Library
Our film library
TPH has built up quite a collection of DVD's and Blu-rays since we started to purchase our own copy of a DVD to complement the Film Distributor's copy which often had to be returned after a screening. These DVD's have been available on Club Nights for members to borrow for a few years.
As the titles have built up, the administration in the few minutes available on Club Nights has become more and more difficult. We have therefore introduced a more convenient system that doesn't involve a deposit so members can borrow a DVD of a film they may have missed at a TPH screening or a title they may wish to see for a second time.
Every current member will be issued with a DVD Library card which has their name and contact details on it. To borrow a film, a member has only to see Ralph on a club night and exchange the card for a DVD of their choice. The DVD should be returned at the next Club Night and members will receive back their card. If anybody is unable to return the disc on time then please get in touch by phone (see TPH committee),or email email@example.com.
The library is available only to current TPH members.
What DVD's are available?
To make Ralph's job more manageable he will bring as a routine only the last 2 years of DVD or Blu-ray discs on film night. If you would like to see a film originally screened over 2 years ago then please email firstname.lastname@example.org so he can bring a copy to the next club night.
The Titles of all the films available and other relevent details can be viewed here The TPH Film Catalogue as a PDF download and printed off at home, the list will be updated at the end of each season. Recent titles in the current season are listed in the yearly TPH brochure. This should make your choice quicker and easier and you can find a summary of the plot and other details on the IMDB site which may help inform your choice.
We hope you find the new system convenient and you are able to make good use of it.
